With beautiful summer weather finally making its return, the season point battles also heated up on Fan Appreciation Night at Thunder Mountain Speedway. Feature winners on the 3/8 mile oval were Luke Hoffner (Steel Block Late Models), Tim Bish (Super Stocks), Kyle Shannon (Pure Stocks), Chris Myers (Enduros), and Don Henry (RWD 4 Cylinders). Rusty Martz defeated Dan Smeal in the 5 lap Super Stock King of the Hill Shootout.

With the 2008 racing season winding down, Matt Gaston (Steel Block Late Models) and Bill McMillen (RWD 4 Cylinders) picked up wins to add to their point leads while Jason Joiner (Thunderbolt Enduros) racked up his second win of the year. Dan Smeal (Super Stocks) picked up his first win, snapping Rusty Martz’s 6 winning streak at 6 races and taking home the $100 bounty. Bruce Hartzfeld (Pure Stocks) grabbed his first feature win of the season.
